Common Printed Stapled Booklet Sizes

  • Letter Size (8.5″ x 11″)

    • The most common size for booklets, widely used for manuals, catalogs, and reports.
    • Perfect for educational materials, informational guides, and company brochures.
  • Half Letter Size (5.5″ x 8.5″)

    • A compact, portable size ideal for pocket guides, smaller catalogs, and promotional booklets.
    • Popular for events, menus, and newsletters.
  • A4 Size (8.27″ x 11.69″)

    • Commonly used in international markets but also a popular choice in the U.S. for business reports, manuals, and larger booklets.
    • Works well for content that needs more space for text or images.
  • A5 Size (5.83″ x 8.27″)

    • A smaller, more manageable size often used for catalogs, brochures, and event programs.
    • Perfect for high-quality marketing materials and customer handouts.
  • Square Size (6″ x 6″)

    • A unique, modern option that stands out for boutique catalogs, creative marketing materials, and high-end product brochures.
    • Often used for fashion lookbooks and artistic presentations.

Why Choose Standard Sizes?

  • Cost Efficiency: Standard sizes reduce waste during production, making them more economical.
  • Consumer Expectations: These sizes feel familiar and are easy to store and distribute.
  • Design Flexibility: Standard sizes provide ample space for clear layouts, images, and text while staying practical.

For unique projects, custom sizes are always an option, but remember they might involve higher costs due to additional setup and production requirements.

Stapled Booklet Paper Options

We offer a variety of economical paper options for both the interior pages and the cover, including ultra-budget-friendly choices like self-cover booklets, ensuring your project remains cost-effective without compromising on quality.

Interior Paper Options

The interior paper needs to balance durability, readability, and visual appeal. Here are the most popular choices:

  • Coated Papers
Gloss and matte coated papers are ideal for booklets with high-quality images and vibrant colors. They provide a smooth surface for sharp details and excellent photo reproduction.

    • 80 gsm (54 lb)
    • 105 gsm (71 lb)
    • 128 gsm (86 lb)
    • 157 gsm (106 lb)
    • 200 gsm (135 lb) for thicker booklets.
  • Uncoated Papers
Perfect for text-heavy booklets or those requiring a writable surface. Uncoated papers have a natural finish and softer feel.

    • 80 gsm (54 lb)
    • 100 gsm (68 lb)
    • 120 gsm (81 lb)

Thinner papers (80–128 gsm) are suitable for booklets with more pages, while thicker options (157–200 gsm) work well for shorter booklets or those needing extra durability.

Cover Paper Options

The cover paper serves as the booklet’s first impression, offering both protection and visual impact. Heavier paper is typically used to give a sturdy, high-end look:

  • Gloss or Matte Coated Papers
    • 80 gsm (30 lb)
    • 105 gsm (39 lb)
    • 128 gsm (47 lb)
    • 157 gsm (58 lb)
    • 200 gsm (74 lb)
    • 250 gsm (92 lb)
    • 300 gsm (111 lb)
    • 350 gsm (129 lb)

Gloss covers are shiny and vibrant, making colors pop, while matte covers offer a more subtle and sophisticated appearance.

Self-Cover Option: The Most Economical Choice

For the most budget-friendly solution, consider a self-cover booklet. This option uses the same paper for the interior pages and the cover, eliminating the need for heavier cover stock. Self-cover booklets are ideal for projects where affordability is a top priority while still maintaining a cohesive and professional appearance.

Choosing the Right Paper for Your Booklet

  • For standard-sized booklets (e.g., 8.5” x 11”), thicker interior paper (128 gsm or 157 gsm) ensures a premium look.
  • Specialty papers, such as textured or holographic finishes, can make your booklet stand out for unique projects.
  • Stapled Booklet can have up to 64 pages
