Custom Retail Paper Box Styles
Choose from these eight different styles of retail paper boxes.
We make these tuck end boxes with a front face, a back, two side panels, and openings at both ends. The openings close with flaps which fold over one another and “tuck in”.
As the straight tuck end box, but with the addition of a handy hang tab which allows the boxes to be hung up or suspended on a suitable stand, hook, or other display system. Functional and attractive, these boxes are very popular in several retail contexts.
The bottom of this box style is designed to automatically fold and close for rapid assembly. The lid is hinged and folds to tuck in on one side of the top of the box. Flat-packed for shipping and needing no special skills or equipment to assemble, these are a very effective and economical packaging solution.
Seal end boxes, as their name suggests, have sealable, sticky flaps for extra security. Otherwise, they are very similar to other tuck end boxes. The high-security closure makes them especially popular in the pharmaceutical and food industries, for example, although they have a wide range of uses.
Bag boxes fold up like a packet tapering to a top-end handle for easy carrying. Our bag boxes are very popular with food, cosmetics, gift, and other retailers. They're cost-effective, handy, and good-looking. They can also be flat-packed for transit.
Gable top boxes with an auto bottom are widely used in the food and catering industries as well as making beautiful gift boxes, for example. The complex folds—which need hand assembly—result in a robust carrier box complete with a handle above the top of the box. Despite the complexity of the design, they're easy to put together and can be stored and transported flat.
Box sleeves, also called “wraps” and “belly bands” are a simple but highly-effective solution to branding and upgrading your basic packaging without the investment of a fully customized box. A single sheet of printed paper, made to measure, that wraps around all or part of your product or product package, they add instant appeal and attraction to any item.
A one-piece box—as the name implies—is a box that builds up from a single piece, usually with a hinged lid which folds over the top of the box and with two sets of flaps which tuck in to secure the lid in position. These are great, versatile little boxes and because they're printed and cut in a single sheet, inexpensive to produce.

C1S paper—this has a protective layer of gloss or matte coating on one side
Brown kraft paper—made from chemical pulp, this paper is tough, resistant, and durable
Black kraft paper—same as above, but black, with a slick, professional look
Corrugated paper—a robust solution with two or more layers filled with fluted inserts
Colored paperboard—paperboard in a variety of attractive colors and shades
Soft-touch paper—this has a scuff-resistant, velvety coating
Textured paper—attractive paper with a textile-like finish

Retail Paper Box Printing Options
At QinPrinting, we use eco-friendly soy ink for colors of unmatched brightness and vibrancy. Box printing options are:
CMYK offset printing — which uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to create the whole spectrum, and is the most cost-effective, popular, and practical solution for most retail box color printing needs.
Pantone color printing—also a form of offset printing, but used to obtain 100% faithfulness in color reproduction. A little more expensive than CMYK.
Silk printing—not suitable for photographs but ideal for printing logos, text, and simple graphics on black or colored paper.
Custom Retail Paper Box Special Finishes
We print all our retail paper boxes with your custom branding, logo, product images and information, and so on. But we can customize them further with a range of specialized techniques.
Gloss lamination adds a shiny, smooth look that elevates the vibrancy and color of your carton's printed surface.
Matte lamination gives your boxes a charming, more subtle finish than gloss. It also tends to soften the colors on your printed surface, which can be the perfect effect for certain products.
Soft touch lamination is a relatively new technique. The result is similar to matte lamination, but the surface has a delightful, almost velvet feel which speaks of quality and luxury.
Varnishing your carton adds a transparent, tough, protective surface. It looks great and is a good option for boxes that will be in storage for longer periods or spend more time in transit.
Foil stamping adds a metallic effect to lettering or other design elements. Gold, silver and bronze are the most popular choices, but we can use pigments to create a foil stamp in almost any color you'd like.
Embossing is a process by which we raise the surface of an area of the box to make it literally stand out.
Like embossing, only the surface is pressed inward to creative a concave impression rather than standing out.
Rather than coating the whole box, you can highlight a specific area with spot UV. We apply a clear polymer coat to the specified area — which could be a product name, a logo, or an image — which really makes it “pop” and catch the eye. Suitable only for surfaces treated with matte or soft-touch lamination.
This is state-of-the-art technology. Using lasers, we can adhere and build metal foil on the surface of your box, creating a stunning, metallic effect on lettering, logos, or other design elements — or even the whole box!
